Due to the demand for renewable energy, the market of solar inverter (photoelectric inverter) is growing. These inverters need high efficiency and reliability. In this paper, the power circuits used in these inverters are investigated, and the best choice for switching and rectifying devices is recommended.

The general structure of the photoelectric inverter is shown in Figure 1. There are three different inverters to choose from. Sunlight irradiates on solar modules connected in series, and each module contains a group of solar cells (solar cells) connected in series. The direct current (DC) voltage generated by the solar module is in the order of several hundred volts. The specific value depends on the illumination condition of the module array, the temperature of the battery and the number of modules in series.
