Most solar charge controllers are built for 12V, 24V or 48V systems. This is fine for small cabins or RVs, but when scaling up to commercial solar arrays or industrial off-grid sites, these low-voltage setups become problematic. Long cable runs, high current, wasted power and oversized wiring all add to the cost.

The AP384-100C from Foshan Top One Power Technology Co., Ltd., however, is a different animal. It's a 100-amp MPPT controller designed for 384 V DC battery banks. This changes the maths entirely. At 384 V, the current required for a given power output is much lower than it would be at 48 V. There is also a no-battery mode for daytime loads if storage is not required. The screen provides real-time data at a glance and the RS485 port enables remote monitoring.

Protection is provided against reverse polarity, over-voltage, over-current and over-temperature. It's all standard stuff, but it works.
