    The AC input circuit (input power supply and power transformer in the figure) has two purposes, one is to convert the unsafe voltage of AC power into a safe voltage (such as converting 220V to 14V); the second is in many circuits. , which processes the AC input and sends it to the circuit structure as the input part.

   However, the input circuit can reduce the power supply voltage, but it cannot change the direction of the current, and the household appliances we use all use direct current, so we also need to convert alternating current into direct current, so we need a rectifier circuit. A rectifier circuit converts alternating current into direct current. Usually, after the AC power is rectified, it becomes not pure DC power, and there are still many AC components, and we must further process the AC components. Treated as a circuit that is as flat as DC.

   Then filter out the AC component, we call it a filter circuit. Filter circuits are sometimes called smoothing circuits. After filtering, it can be said to become pure direct current. However, it is not yet possible to directly access the load. Because there are still two problems: first, when the load increases, the current at the input end must also increase, and when the load decreases, the current at the input end also decreases accordingly; second, the voltage at the input end will also change. The input terminal voltage will decrease when the power peak is over, and the input terminal voltage will rise again after the power peak is over.
