1. Structure type
There are many types of digital voltmeters, and there are different classification methods from different angles. The more commonly used classification methods are divided according to their working principles, which can generally be divided into the following categories.
1. Comparative Digital Voltmeter
Its basic working principle is to compare the measured voltage with a known reference voltage to obtain the value of the measured voltage. This is quite similar to the working principle of a common potentiometer, but it is compared automatically through a logic circuit, so the measurement speed is much faster than a potentiometer.
2. Voltage-Time Conversion Digital Voltmeter
It is also called u-t conversion digital voltmeter. It first converts the measured voltage into a pulse signal with a certain width, and then uses a clock pulse of a certain frequency to measure the width of the pulse, thereby obtaining the measured voltage value. This digital voltmeter can be divided into single integral type, double integral type and pulse width modulation type.
3. Voltage-Frequency Conversion Digital Voltmeter
It is also called u-f conversion digital voltmeter. The basic principle is to first convert the measured voltage into a pulse signal with the corresponding frequency, and then measure the measured voltage value by measuring the frequency.
