AC Voltmeter
When measuring the AC voltage, the circuit constitutes an AC voltmeter by replacing the measurement selector switch, as shown in Figure 4. The AC voltage block and the DC voltage block share a voltage divider. The difference is that when measuring the AC voltage, an AC/DC converter is added between the input terminal IN of the digital meter and the voltage divider. The voltage is replaced by DC voltage and sent to the digital meter for display. The AC/DC converter can also correct the peak-to-peak value of the AC voltage to the RMS value, so the reading displayed on the LCD display is the RMS value of the measured AC voltage.
Ohmmeter
When measuring resistance, by measuring the replacement of the selector switch, the circuit constitutes an ohmmeter, as shown in Figure 6. The standard resistance R0 and the measured resistance RX constitute a resistance/voltage converter, and a standard voltage U is added to the two resistances, and a certain voltage drop is generated on R0 and Rx respectively in proportion. Since the resistance value of the standard resistor R0 is known, the resistance value of the measured resistor RX can be indirectly measured by measuring the voltage drop UX on the RX. According to the characteristics of the integrated circuit IC 7106 in the digital meter head, when RX=R0, the display reading is 1000. If the value of R0 is reasonably designed, the LCD display can directly display the resistance value of the measured resistor. The range can be changed by changing the resistance value of the standard resistor R0.
