Alternating Current(AC) input and Alternating Current (AC) output :

1. Main differences
Directionality: Alternating Current input is the power current that the device receives from the outside, while Alternating Current output is the current that the device delivers to the outside.
Source: Alternating Current input usually comes from the grid or other Alternating Current power sources for use by the device, while Alternating Current output is the Alternating Current power output after energy conversion inside the device (e.g. inverter).
Function: Alternating Current input provides the power required for the device to operate, while Alternating Current output is the result of the device operating and is provided to the external load or the mains.

2. Example
Inverter: The AC input of the inverter comes from the grid or other external AC power sources. After receiving the AC input, the inverter processes and converts it to DC power, then converts the DC power to AC power through the inversion process, and finally outputs the converted AC power (AC output) to the power grid or power consuming equipment.
UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply): UPS units also have an Alternating Current input and an Alternating Current output. The Alternating Current input comes from the mains supply and the battery inside the UPS stores electrical energy; when the mains supply is interrupted, the UPS uses the internal battery and converts the stored DC power to Alternating Current power via the inverter, providing AC output for the equipment to continue operating.
