Special care should be taken when connecting the inverter to inductive loads, as inductive loads (such as motors, compressors, fans or water pumps) generate high instantaneous currents when starting up, which can affect the performance and stability of the inverter.
Inductive load characteristics: The current required to start inductive loads is typically 3 to 7 times the normal operating current. Pure sine wave inverters are more suitable for such loads.
- Pure sine wave inverters are preferable:
Modified wave or square wave inverters can cause unstable operation, heating or increased noise from inductive loads.
- The current output of pure sine wave inverters matches the grid, which can better support inductive loads.
Increase the load gradually:
- When starting the load, avoid connecting several inductive loads at the same time. You can switch on the equipment gradually to reduce the effect of the instantaneous current on the inverter.
- Pay attention to heat dissipation: Running inductive loads for a long time can increase the heat of the inverter and you must ensure that the heat dissipation system is good.
- Adapt the soft start function: Some inverters support a soft start function, which can reduce the start-up impact and extend the life of the equipment.
