An off-grid solar inverter in Energy Saving Mode operates with a focus on optimising energy consumption while maintaining a stable power supply. In this mode, the inverter operates similarly to its normal operation, but with additional mechanisms to ensure efficient use of available energy.

When the grid is disconnected, the inverter goes into off-grid mode and starts drawing power from the battery to supply the load. However, to ensure that the inverter operates efficiently and within its capacity, the load must be at least 5% greater than the inverter's rated output capacity. If the load demand is too low, the inverter will attempt to start but will not be able to maintain a stable output. In such cases, the inverter will turn on for 3 seconds and then turn off for 11 seconds, repeating this cycle to test whether the load meets the required threshold.

This behaviour prevents the inverter from running inefficiently or using battery power unnecessarily when the load is insufficient to sustain continuous operation. It also helps to protect the system from damage due to overload or underload conditions. This energy saving mode is particularly useful in scenarios where load demand is variable or where energy efficiency is a priority, ensuring that the inverter only operates when system conditions are optimal for reliable power supply.
