Introduction to the Principle of Clamp Ammeter
Clamp meters are divided into two types: single AC clamp meters and AC and DC clamp meters. The principles of the two types are different.
Single AC Clamp Meter
The clamp head adopts an electromagnetic current transformer. Through a coil with a certain turns ratio, the alternating current can generate electromagnetic induction in the clamp head coil to obtain a current proportional to the alternating current, and then convert the electrical signal into a digital signal through conversion.
AC and DC Clamp Meter
The clamp head adopts Hall active current clamp, which uses the principle of Hall effect. In addition to inducing the electromagnetic field of the alternating current, the active component can also convert the magnetic field signal into an electrical signal, output a voltage signal proportional to the measured current, and measure and amplify through the Hall element to test the DC signal.
