The structure of the power filter
Power filters are generally designed as passive filters consisting only of resistors, capacitors and inductors, without active components such as transistors. The above picture is an example of a power filter. The top of the power filter is connected to the power supply, and there is a common mode inductance at the power supply end, that is, the two lines of the power supply are wound around the iron core in the same direction. If there is a common mode signal on the power line, The magnetic fields generated in the common mode inductor will add together, so there is a larger impedance, while the magnetic fields generated by the differential mode signal in the common mode inductor will cancel each other out, so they can flow through the common mode inductor. The current flowing through the power supply is mainly in the common mode, but the above noise may also appear in the form of differential mode. To suppress the differential mode noise, it is necessary to use additional differential mode inductors, or separate inductors for each phase.
