Classification of resistors
There are many types of resistors, usually divided into three categories: fixed resistors, variable resistors, special resistors. In electronic products, fixed resistors are the most used. The fixed resistors can be divided into many categories by their manufacturing materials, but the commonly used and common ones are RT-type carbon film resistors, RJ-type metal film resistors, RX-type wirewound resistors, and chip resistors that have been widely used in recent years. The model name is very regular, the first letter R stands for resistance; the meaning of the second letter is: T-carbon film, J-metal, X-wire winding, these symbols are the first letters of Chinese Pinyin. In domestic old-fashioned electronic products, you can often see resistors coated with green paint, which are RT types. The red resistor is RJ type. In general, old-fashioned electronic products are mostly green resistors. Why? This involves the issue of product cost, because although metal film resistors have high precision and good temperature characteristics, the manufacturing cost is also high, while carbon film resistors are particularly cheap and can meet the requirements of civilian products.
Resistors also have power, of course. The most common is the 1/8 watt "color ring carbon film resistor", which is the most used in electronic products and electronic production. Of course, in some miniature products, 1/16 watt resistors are used, which are much smaller. Then there is the micro chip resistor, which is a member of the chip component family. It used to be more common in imported micro products. Now electronics enthusiasts can also buy domestic products to make small electronic devices.
