Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) is a core technology of photovoltaic inverters. As the output power of photovoltaic modules changes with the intensity of solar radiation and the temperature of the modules themselves, there is an optimal operating point called the Maximum Power Point (MPP). The function of MPPT is to ensure that the photovoltaic modules always operate close to the maximum power point, thereby maximising the efficiency of power generation.

In order to achieve MPPT, the photovoltaic inverter will continuously detect the current and voltage changes of the photovoltaic modules and adjust the working state of the inverter according to these changes. Typically, MPPT is achieved through a DC/DC conversion circuit. By adjusting the duty cycle of the PWM drive signal of the DC/DC converter, the output of the photovoltaic module is always kept close to the maximum power point.
