A constant voltage and constant current power supply refers to a power supply that has both constant voltage control components and constant current control components.
There are two control units inside the constant current and constant voltage power supply, one is the voltage regulation control unit, which strives to keep the output voltage stable when the load changes, provided that the output current must be less than the preset constant current value. In fact, in the constant voltage state, the constant current control unit is in a resting state, and it does not interfere with the output voltage and output current.
When the load current increases to the preset constant current value due to the gradual reduction of the load resistance, the constant current control unit starts to work. The constant current value remains unchanged. For this reason, the output voltage needs to be reduced as the load resistance decreases. In extreme cases, the load resistance value drops to zero (short-circuit state), and the output voltage also drops to zero. , to keep the output current constant.
These are the functions of the constant current component. When the constant current component is working, the constant voltage component is also in a dormant state, and it no longer interferes with the level of the output voltage.
