In the fuel cell system, when the output current of the fuel cell has a low frequency pulsation component with a frequency less than 1 kHz and a peak-to-peak value of twice the average value of the output current, the output power of the battery is reduced by up to 10%. Therefore, the low frequency pulsating current can seriously affect the maximum power output of the fuel cell. In addition, the low-frequency pulsating current will cause the fuel cell to overheat, increase additional losses, shorten the service life, reduce the system efficiency, and even lead to system instability in severe cases.

For photovoltaic power generation systems, the low-frequency pulsation component in the output current of photovoltaic cells causes power oscillation at the maximum power point, which affects the tracking of the maximum power point and reduces the system efficiency. For the two-stage inverter system, the low-frequency ripple will lead to an increase in the effective value of the current, and the current stress and on-state loss of the switch tube will increase, reducing the efficiency of the front-stage DC/DC converter.
